Astar Networks Releases 2023 Roadmap Dubbed the “Starmap”, Focused on Building

Astar Network is a layer-1 blockchain offering a scalable and decentralized infrastructure with multi-chain capabilities Free Its four-part 2023 roadmap.

Dubbed the Starmap of 2023, it details how blockchain networks will be built to realize their full potential. In an era where developers are keen to deploy on base layers that promise decentralization, scalability and security, Astar seeks to establish itself as the go-to platform by providing all the necessary tools and stability desired by network builders. The move is advised by the events of last year when harsh market conditions wreaked havoc on construction, with developers forced to evacuate due to a collapse in property prices. Networks like Solana hemorrhaged developers, some of whom were forced to redeploy to competing but more stable and interoperable networks.

In the first phase, Reborn Nebula, in the first quarter of 2023, Astar Network will aim to introduce a series of upgrades to bring advanced features and make the network progressively more robust. The first mission in this development phase will be to introduce cross-virtual machine (XVM) functionality. It allows smart contracts in one virtual machine environment to communicate with smart contracts in other environments. XVM will allow bi-directional calls between Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and WebAssembly (WASM).

There will also be efforts on the Astar UI library and Astar.js, WASM tooling, XCM smart contracts, and dApp staking. Astar Networks developers believe that the availability of robust tooling is critical, and WebAssembly (WASM) is a jig for this ideal future. With DApp staking, adoption can be accelerated, making Web3 a reality.

In its second phase of development, “The Growth Nebula”, ASTAR Network’s mission will be to bring some of its core features to life while pioneering new enhancements. In Q2, the focus will be on Swanky Suite, an all-in-one tool for WASM developers, and the number of related projects will be increased while building a more decentralized tooling. There will also be further development around the tokennomics of the ASTAR network.

During the “Expansion Nebula” in Q3 2023, developers will look to expand their talent pool as there will be more high-quality tools and projects. The goal is to build on the Astar Standard Development Kit (SDK), introduce further decentralization of the infrastructure, enhance existing decentralized tooling, and create a learning hub for existing and aspiring developers. As the year ends, the “Shine Nebula” phase in Q4 2023 will be devoted to strategic development for 2024.

Astar Network, as Reported, a preferred gateway for Web3 activities in Japan. Developers are taking advantage of the network’s WASM implementation, allowing for rapid dApp creation and deployment.
